Artificial flowers for wedding, mandap and event decoration

4 min read

Fresh flowers for a mandap are beautiful for one day. Then they go in a bin. Decorators who work through a full wedding season buy artificial flowers for one reason: the same stock does twenty events, and it looks the same at the last one as the first.

The case for artificial in event work

Fresh flowers have to be bought, kept cold, arranged on the day, and thrown away. Artificial flowers are bought once and set up at your own pace, sometimes a day early.

Colour is the other reason. Fresh stock varies by season and by market. Artificial flowers give you the exact same shade every time, which matters when a client picked a palette months ago.

What decorators buy most

Flower balls for hanging and for entrance arches. These do the heavy lifting and read from a distance.

Grass mats and leaf trellis panels for backdrops and for covering structure. A 1x2 metre mat covers a lot of frame quickly.

Tall palms and trees to frame an entrance or a stage, and to fill the corners of a hall that photograph empty.

Plan for reuse, not for one event

Buy in matched sets. Two of something is a pair. Ten of something is a look you can repeat for the next client.

Pick pieces that pack flat or nest. Grass mats stack. Big open flower arrangements do not, and they get crushed in transport.

Keep a repair box: florist wire, a glue gun and a few spare stems. A stem that pops out mid season is a five minute fix, not a replacement.

Buying for a season

Season stock is a bulk order. The discount runs on the whole order value, so a decorator buying flowers, mats and palms together crosses the slabs faster than buying category by category through the year.

We are at Lohar Chawl in Kalbadevi, Mumbai, and we deliver all over India with a GST invoice. Send your list on WhatsApp at and we will confirm stock and lead time before the season starts.
